Advertising Policy
Last updated: February 24, 2026
US News Desk is a free-to-read publication supported by programmatic display advertising. This page explains how advertising works on the site, and — importantly — how it does notinteract with our editorial decisions.
What we run
- Google AdSense — programmatic display advertising served by Google. Advertisers do not have any relationship with US News Desk; they buy ads through Google's auction and Google's system decides which ads to show to each visitor.
- Location of ad slots — display ads appear in clearly-bordered slots between editorial sections, in the sidebar of individual editorials, and after the fold on index pages. Ads are always labelled or visually distinct from editorial content.
What we do NOT run
- Sponsored content or "advertorials" disguised as editorial pieces.
- Paid mentions inside editorial pieces.
- Affiliate links whose commercial nature is not disclosed to the reader.
- Native ads that visually mimic editorial content.
Editorial / advertising firewall
Advertisers have no influence on our editorial. Editorial topic selection, angle, sourcing, and publication decisions are made solely by the editorial team, independent of Google's ad network or any advertiser. See our Editorial Policy for how editorial decisions are actually made.
Personalised advertising
Google may use cookies to personalise the ads shown to you based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at myadcenter.google.com. See our Cookie Policy for the full list of advertising cookies used.
Report an ad
If you see an ad on US News Desk that you believe is unsafe, misleading, or violates Google's policies, please report it to us at saimuralidharmaheedhara@gmail.com with a screenshot and the URL of the page where you saw it. We will forward the report to Google and take further action if needed.
For advertisers
We do not accept direct advertisers or sponsored placements. All ad inventory is sold via Google AdSense.
